Dòchas was founded by Annah and Gail, who between them spent years working inside the care sector. They saw the very best of care, and they saw what could be lost when services became too focused on schedules, tasks and paperwork.
A shower could become a task. Preparing lunch could become a task. Even conversation could become something squeezed into whatever time was left. But for the person receiving support, these aren't tasks, this is their life.
Annah and Gail wanted to build a service that remembered that: one where dignity, kindness, safety, professionalism and genuine human connection could all exist together.
